Register a charge on property the company bought
When a company buys property that is already subject to a charge (the seller’s mortgage, say, which stays on it), the charge is registered against the company with form MR02 and a certified copy of the charge document. The 21-day limit for a charge the company creates (MR01) does not apply to one that came with the property. Fileyear files the MR02 with the certified copy you upload.

The rules

| When | A charge already on property the company acquires |
| Deadline | None set by law (section 859C), unlike MR01’s 21 days |

| A charge the company gives | Use MR01 instead |
| Government fee | Collected at checkout and paid to Companies House by Fileyear |
Questions directors ask
When is it MR02 and not MR01?
MR02 is for a charge that already existed on the property when the company acquired it. A charge the company itself gives, even over property it has just bought, is MR01, within 21 days.
What is a certified copy?
A copy of the whole signed charge document, certified as a correct copy of the original by the person sending it. Personal details other than names, and bank account numbers, may be blacked out.
