ACSP (authorised corporate service provider)

An authorised corporate service provider (ACSP), also called a Companies House authorised agent, is a business registered with Companies House that can verify people’s identities for it. It must be supervised by a UK anti-money-laundering body; accountants and solicitors are common examples¹.

Why it matters

It is one of the two ways to verify your identity for Companies House, and you can use one from any country. You give the agent documents from an approved list, and they may charge a fee. The other way is free, online through GOV.UK One Login¹. Companies House says that in future, businesses will also need to register as an authorised agent to file on behalf of clients².
